Think Thanks

Grateful for all that we have right now. Give thanks.
Things are turning out okay now that J is giving us 4 days per week and 1 on standby, us finding the 2nd job at snowshoe and feeling optimistic about securing the 3rd job due to DiDi and Sal seemingly positive reactions.

Well, given that we only have 2 months more, i figured we should give our all and in the meantime enjoy life here to the fullest before we head back to the sunny island. Work is the same anywhere so I’ve taken to adopt a sieve-out-negativities-and-crap approach to work and dealing with people, so that i am able to make my short independent happy life here even better with contentment as the underlying trait. Most people here are absolutely sweet and a darling to work with. For the minority who i cant really seem to understand, i take it as a clash of culture. and that works out pretty fine.

For issues that i absolutely have to bitch about (and since talk is free), I’ll take to straightening it out over a nice cup of freshly brewed coffee and snacks/finger food. Somehow my brain places more emphasis on the yummilicious stuff instead of the yadaa-yadaa which i know is just an outlet to let off steam in this place where action doesn’t speak louder than words.

Food has always been our saviour, in extreme weather conditions, fatigue, body aches, hyperactiveness and buffer in between activities and mood adjustments. Glad that despite the ulu-ness of Tok, we have san-xiong within walking distance to turn to for quick relief and necessities. and work is increasingly taking its toll on our mental and physical health so much so that i am grateful that i forget (almost) how much free time i have to wander around in this small town which i haven fully covered on foot or bike. At least there’s something (more) to look forward to on days where i have to roam around by myself, taking in the supposedly breadth-taking scenery which i somehow taken for granted and have to keep reminding myself that i will NEVER get to see sth lidat in Sin.

and now that we have subscribed to our own internet access, we can use our laptops and be virtually contactable (yeah right) in the comfort of our trailer, away from the combi of howling wind AND scorching sun. and i’ve better appreciate the convenience of hotspots in singapore, and our unlimited internet subscription that is oh-so-dirt-cheap back at home (with all the freebies thrown in for extension of subscription).

Was telling Jo that we will never get another chance to be in this situation, ever. Anyway, i suppose we won’t be able to fork out another 3 months in any part of our life later on doing stuff that we are doing, even if we have a choice. Like what Pam said, we can still come back in future when we have 10,000 to spare on a trip through Yukon-Alaska. Yeah, and eat Alaska King crabs and salmon. Think “Deadliest-Catch”.

Cruising along well, with gears oiled and battery fully charged.

Bring it on Alaska!
